Pepperjack Shiraz Viognior 2004

Pepperjack
Shiraz Viognior
$22
Barossa Valley

Pepperjack is dependable, across its whole range there isn't much of a dud. They're the kind of wine you can bring to a dinner party without looking too cliche (like if you brought a Wolf Blass, Wynns, Rosemount - which are great wines but have a supermarket feeling to them).

The shiraz/viognier blend is always a winner for me and probably my new favourite blend. This is a fun, not too refined wine. Its got a decent amount of body, showing a couple of levels of fruit flavours - simple put juicy but instead of a peppery hit like some shirazes this has more of a citrusy kick that is smile inducing.

totally a drink now wine

4/5
